Primary Interests
Language variation and socio-historical linguistics (especially the influences of literacy on processes of language change); Old English, early Middle English; early English paleography and manuscript studies; regional and social dialectology.
Secondary Interests
Linguistic theory, especially diachronic phonology and syntax; contemporary varieties of English.
