Waitlist & Permission Procedures
The Writing Program is committed to placing as many students as possible into our course offerings prior to the start of the term. If you are unable to secure a seat in your desired class during your initial registration appointment, please follow the appropriate course of action below:
If you are interested in English 124, 125, 223, 225, 229, 230, 325, or 425 please add your name to the Wolverine Access waitlist. Enrollments will be monitored throughout the registration period and overrides will be issued in the order they appear on the official waitlist. You should check your U-M e-mail account regularly for a message with registration instructions, as there is a deadline for accepting any spaces offered. After the deadline passes, the space will be offered to the next student on the waitlist, who will also have a deadline to accept the space. You will be automatically removed from the waitlist if you do not use an override by the expiration date.
Registered & Waitlisted Students
Please remember that you must attend BOTH the first and second class meetings in order to secure your position on the class roster or the waitlist. Failure to attend either meeting can result in your being dropped from the course or the waitlist.
Dropping a Class
NOTE: If you miss either of the first two meetings of a Writing Program course, you will be dropped for non-attendance.You may alter your class schedule via Wolverine Access until the end of the Drop/Add period (approximately the third week of the term). After this deadline, you will need to see your academic advisor for assistance. If you are an LSA student, you will need to complete a Drop/Add form, available in 1255 Angell Hall. A class dropped after the deadline will result in a "W" on your transcript. You will not receive a tuition refund for the dropped class
