Format: Live presentation
Cost: $4.00 per person

 

This program teaches sky motions, seasons, rise and set, simple Moon phases, and eclipses (if requested) of the Sun, Earth, and Moon.  

Recently revised as part of a doctoral project on early childhood learning in astronomy, the program is now more interactive, and focused on state benchmarks. In the words of a second grade teacher, ?It was a great show and right on for second grade!?

Science I.1 Constructing new scientific knowledge, reconstruct previously learned knowledge.
Science II.1 Enhance ability to reflect on scientific knowledge. Where appropriate, how various cultures have contributed to developments in science.
Science IV.3 Motion of objects--Sun, Earth, Moon. How things around us move, or appear to move.
Science V.4 The solar system, galaxy, and universe. Compare and contrast the Sun, Moon, and Earth. Explain how things move, and learn how we can observe this.
