Prehistoric Life

Prehistoric Life

Grades 1-8, Grades 9-Adult by request

This tour explores how fossils form!

Your students can piece together the past in our most popular program! Revamped to include more "learn by doing" experiences, children will use hands-on inquiry to solve scientific problems, just like research scientists here at U-M! Learn about fossilization, paleontology, and geologic time. Explore the world of the dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals by observing their many adaptations and what they tell us about their lifestyles. Get up close and personal with our incredible collection of skeletons, dioramas, and fossils! Hands-on activities and opportunities are integrated throughout the tour. Hands-on objects include an Allosaurus claw, a baby Protoceratops skull and an American Mastodon tooth.

Length: 1 hour
Cost: $5 per person
