Email to Faculty and Instructional Staff: December 1, 2004
December 1, 2004
Dear Faculty and Instructional Staff,
I am writing to remind you that for this semester it is particularly important that grades be submitted within 72 hours after the final exam as required by the LSA Faculty Code. The end of the term comes late, as you know, with the last exam day December 23. Faculty who give exams on that day have until December 27 to turn in grade sheets.
Many students applying for graduate and professional schools, jobs, internships, etc. will be depending on getting grades posted on time in order to complete applications. Returning students will expect to see their grades posted before they return from winter break. Remember that Winter term classes start on January 5.
The LSA Academic Standards Board will be reviewing student records on December 30 and 31 to determine if students are in good standing. To complete this task successfully, it is essential that grades be posted on time.
Thank you for your cooperation. As always, if you have concerns about inidividual students, please feel free to contact the Academic Advising Center (1255 Angell Hall, 764-0332) .
Sincerely,
Esrold A. Nurse, Assistant Dean
