Memo to LSA Faculty and Instructional Staff: February 7, 2007
MEMORANDUM
TO: LSA Faculty and Instructional Staff
FROM: Esrold A. Nurse, Assistant Dean
DATE: February 7, 2007
RE: Online Progress Reports
As in the past, the on-line progress reports are extremely helpful in notifying us about students who are experiencing difficulty in your class. Early notification helps alert a student’s advisor about problems while there is still time to effect a change in the student’s performance. Since students having difficulty in one class are often experiencing problems in other classes, this is especially important.
Easy to do: Click on http://www.lsa.umich.edu/facstaff/saa/, then on LSA Undergraduate Student Progress Report (the second link), and follow the directions.
We are requesting that you fill in the student data, which is easily accessible through your Class Roster on Wolverine Access, and check the appropriate boxes. There is also space for your comments. Please note that when the form is submitted to us, copies are sent simultaneously to the student’s academic advisor for follow-up purposes and to the student.
The on-line report allows us to respond promptly to students experiencing academic difficulty. For your information the deadline to drop courses for this term is Friday, March 16, 2007.
Thanks in advance for your attention to this matter. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions.
