Solutions and Options for Accommodations in the Classroom and/or Department

  • Allow students to start early or end later when taking tests to accommodate need for extended time.
  • Allow noise-reduction devices such as headphones or earplugs.
  • Make provisions for the test to be administered by a proctor on a separate day or time.
  • Allow a GSI or proctor to administer the test in a separate room or space.
  • Coordinate accommodation needs within the classroom environment.
  • Find a separate neighboring classroom, department office, or conference room for a student to take the test in a distraction-reduced or quiet environment or to accommodate need for a Reader or Scribe.
