Study Abroad Workshop Series
Study Aboad Workshop Series, Fall 2010
Following on the heels (sort of) of the last Study Abroad Brown Bag this past Winter 2010 term, we are planning an entire series of workshops this coming Fall 2010 semester on the capacious subject of Study Abroad.
The broad outlines of the series are as follows:
- Tools & Resources (offices, websites, workshops, info sessions); Preparing students to go abroad (culturally and curricularly); Communicating with students while abroad
- Student Panel (discussing their experiences from finding a program, through transferring courses/credits and (re)integrating upon their return, again both culturally and academically/curricularly)
- Post-travel re-integration and credit approval procedures (from the department side)
- Pedagogical Issues, integration of study abroad into the curriculum, etc.
The series would consist of 90 minute sessions, most likely at the same time, tentatively the third Wednesday of the month from 4:00-5:30pm.
