Sample Quality Determination

The GDL offers three platforms for determination of sample quality and integrity for both DNA and RNA samples.

NanoDrop 2000 Spectrophotometer
Quantification measurements may take contaminants into account when quantitating nucleic acid and does not differentiate between DNA and RNA. NanoDrop provides 260/280 nm and 260/230 nm ratios that can be used to evaluate the purity of the sample.

Qubit 2.0 Fluorometer
Accurate at very low concentrations. Measures only the nucleic acids in a sample and is specific for RNA or DNA. It does not provide 260/280 or 260/230 ratios.
