Business, law, medicine, teaching, geology, oceanography:  Those are just some of the many careers that our undergraduates have pursued in the past.  Our innovative and varied concentration programs provide an interesting path for students to follow on their way to an LSA degree. From our field camp at Camp Davis in Wyoming, to lab work on campus, Michigan students have an opportunity to explore the geological sciences in exciting ways.

The Department of Geological Sciences offers a number of options for interested students, including concentration programs at the BS level in Geological Sciences, Earth Systems Science, Environmental Geosciences, and Oceanography, and a BA program in Earth Sciences, all of which can be undertaken as Honors programs. The Department also offers academic minors in Earth Sciences, Environmental Geology, Geochemistry, Oceanography, and Paleontology, as well as a Teacher's Certificate Program.

To declare a Geological Sciences concentration or minor, students should make an appointment with the Department undergraduate advisor. Click on the GeoSci Advising link in the menu to the right or see http://www.lsa.umich.edu/geo/undergrad/advising/ for contact information.
