Assistant Professor of German Studies
The Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, invites applications for a tenure-track position in German Studies, at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning September 1, 2015. We seek candidates who complement the interdisciplinary profile of the Department with research foci on cross-cultural inquiries such as migration and diaspora studies, ethnic and minority studies, or transnational and comparative studies. Possible option of joint appointment with a second academic unit, depending on the successful candidate’s research profile and qualifications.
The appointee will be expected to teach mid- and upper-level undergraduate courses in German and English as well as graduate classes (teaching load 2/2). Requirements: near native fluency in German and English; familiarity with U.S. system of higher education; Ph.D. in German Studies or related fields in hand by September 1, 2015.
