database of entries. Also available in English and

Huge searchable database of information on people,

A multilingual work in progress compiled collaboratively
by German university students, currently (9/2004)
including over 140,000 entries. Academically oriented
in its choice of topics. Clicking on the categories
down the page did not get me very far, but the "Suche"
box produced good results.

are also available in several other languages: English,
