    Sara joined the German Studies doctoral program at the University of Michigan in 2006. She received both her B.A. in English and German with a minor in Religious Studies, and her M.A. in Germanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Oregon. Before coming to Michigan to continue her graduate studies Sara spent a year in Hamburg with the Fulbright Exchange teaching English language, culture and literature at a Gymnasium, and continuing her research in theater and drama. She spent the academic year 2009-2010 in Berlin conducting dissertation research with a Fulbright Research Grant. Sara is currently writing her dissertation, Temptresses & Murderesses: Text, Body and Performance in fin-de-siècle Berlin (working title). Her research interests include 19th and 20th century theater and drama, women's and gender studies, criminality and criminology, performance theory, and classical reception.
