Jennie joined the German Studies doctoral program at the University of Michigan in the fall of 2008. She received her B.A. in German (with Honors) from Grinnell College. Between sophomore and junior year of college she taught English language and American culture in a Rudolf Steiner School in München. She completed an M.A. in German Studies, with a concentration in literature, from the Middlebury College Summer Language School in the summer of 2009. Thus far her research interests include Romanticism, Goethezeit, aesthetics and the theme of curative arts.
