There are many species of Euphorbia (Euphorbiaceae) known from the Dhofar region, and a diversity of growth forms. The dwarf geophyte E. hadramautica (top left), the pencil-like succulents E. schimperi, E. dhofarensis and E. larica (bottom right), the spiny stem succulent E. cactus (top right, growing with E. balsamifera), the semi-succulent shrub E. balsamifera subsp. adenensis (top right, growing with E. cactus) and the woody shrub E. smithii (bottom left) all occur in this region.
