Research interests
On-going interest in cataloguing the benthic marine algae of the tropical and subtropical Western Atlantic; third revision of the checklist is being compiled; current efforts at describing the algal composition of the Northern Arabian sea (coast of the Sultanate of Oman), the most significant area of upwelling known in the world. Systematic treatment of the red algal family Delesseriaceae. Contributions to the historical aspects of phycology and phycological exploration.
