  • About

Anne Berg has been trained in modern European and German history. Her dissertation, offers a locally grounded study of Nazi cinema in the context of war. In her book project, “The Nazi City: Public Leisure, Social Control and the Politics of Lebensraum” Anne examines how public leisure reordered the relationships between urban publics and the Nazi authorities in Berlin, Hamburg, Nuremberg and Düsseldorf. In a second project, Anne examines the politics of waste and recycling in Nazi Germany and Nazi occupied Europe. Anne’s wider research and teaching interests include film studies, urban history, the history of the welfare state and the history of food and trash in global contexts.
