My M.A. research focused on eighth- and ninth-century Carolingian texts and material objects intended for the education and edification of members of the Frankish lay aristocracy. I am broadly interested in the social, cultural, religious, and environmental history of the early medieval West. In my doctoral research I hope to delve further into early medieval perceptions of landscape and the relationship between human beings and the environment.
