Internships

The History Department encourages students to look for links to opportunities beyond campus and to pursue
their interests in real-life situations, but we do not give academic credit for work experiences. We gladly pass along notices from internship/work agencies that are received by the department.

Students who find appropriate internship positions may be able to combine their experience with independent academic work, under faculty supervision, and receive credit through our Reading Course, History 395. Students must make their own arrangements with an appropriate faculty member, usually with a professor who knows them. The student is expected to propose his or her own topic and then work with the faculty member to develop the course requirements (reading list, assignments, papers, evaluation, number of credits, etc.)
