Charles B Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowship

The Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowship welcomes applications from young people interested in careers of international service. The Fellowship supports students seeking careers in Foreign Service of the US Department of State with $90,000 over two years to fund graduate school. Additionally the fellowship arranges internships on Capitol Hill and U.S. Embassies, and provides mentorship and professional development. Upon completion of a two year graduate program Fellows join the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • Seniors of Graduates who are preparing to start grad school in the fall of the year they apply are eligible.
  • Candidate should show an interest in International Affairs, commitment to service, outstanding academics, leadership and adaptability.

  • Candidate must attend a master’s program in a field related to Foreign Service, including international relations, public policy, public administration, languages, or business administration.

  • GPA requirement: 3.2.

  • Must be U.S. Citizen.

  • Encourages applicants from minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service and those with financial need.
