LSA Honors Grants for Research, Travel, and Special Projects
Please read all instructions on this page carefully before submitting your grant application.
Honors Grants: Supplementary funding for Honors students’ activities is made possible by generous donations from our alumni and supporters (see below). Priority will be given to research related to Honors theses, presentations at professional conferences, and international travel. However, all students are welcome to apply. If you have questions regarding eligibility, please direct them to email@example.com.
Application Deadline: Applications will open February 1, 2014. The early deadline for the Winter 2014 Semester will be March 3rd. Submission before the early deadline gives students the best opportunity to receive funding. All applications completed with faculty endorsements by the early deadline will be reviewed in a group and awards made by mid-March. If there are funds remaining after our initial round of grants, the Winter 2014 application window will remain open until May 5th.
Faculty Endorsement: Research and travel grant applications for more than $250 require endorsement by a faculty member familiar with the project (e.g. thesis advisor or research sponsor). Faculty endorsement is not required for requests related to CGIS or other study abroad programs or summer internships. Upon receipt of your grant application we will send a Faculty Endorsement Form directly to your faculty sponsor. The form includes questions on the feasibility of the project, appropriateness of the requested budget, and other sources of funding. Please discuss these issues with your faculty sponsor prior to submitting your grant application to ensure a speedy response. Faculty endorsements must be received for your application to be considered complete and proceed to the review stage. If you have questions regarding faculty endorsement, please direct them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
"Apply Online" button activates February 1, 2014.
Students do not need to apply to particular funds. We will make student projects with appropriate funds during the review process. The Honors Program and its students are very appreciative of the donors who make these grants possible.
