Morris and Lola Wasserstein Awards

Deadline: March 29, 2013

Honors students on the writing or editorial staff of the Michigan Daily are eligible to apply for the Morris and Lola Wasserstein Awards.

The Wasserstein Awards are made possible by a generous gift from Mr. Bruce Wasserstein to honor his father and mother. Investment banker Bruce Wasserstein (1947-2009) was an Honors graduate who had a great affection for the University of Michigan, the Honors Program, and the Michigan Daily.

Awards can exceed $1000/term for one or two terms and are based on the overall academic record, the quality of work done at the Daily, and the personal statement.

If you are interested, please provide the Honors Program with a one to two page statement about your academic and career plans as well as your plans to use the prize money. You need not include samples of your work at the Daily if it is available online but please direct us to those pieces with which you are most satisfied.  You may email all material to honors.scholarships@umich.edu.
