For Sophomores Who Have Completed Eight Honors Courses

In your sophomore year, you will finish your core Honors courses.  By the end of the year, you want to declare your major and think ahead to your thesis, which will enable you to graduate with Honors.

By getting involved in research, investigating study abroad opportunities, and developing your interests through you liberal arts course work, you will fine tune this selection process.  You may begin checking out internships for next summer, and it’s not too early to be thinking further ahead to graduate or professional school, which may include post-graduate scholarships and fellowships like Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright, and more.

You will make appointments with the department in which you plan to major and discuss partnering with faculty/staff, thesis course work, and applying the Honors subplan for your thesis. Honors advisors may help you think through various alternatives.
