For Admitted Students

You've Been Admitted to Honors! Now What?

First, congratulations! You are being given the opportunity to combine the best features of the University of Michigan (access to the matchless resources of a world-class research university and the energy and spirit of a large state school) with the kind of vibrant small community of students and faculty you'd find at a small, high-caliber liberal arts college. Accepting our invitation means joining a community where you will have the opportunity to choose challenging classes and to conduct your own original research.

What makes the Honors Program different? In Honors courses, you'll examine material in great depth, have engaging discussions with your Honors classmates, and develop close ties with faculty. In addition, you'll benefit from our rich program of lectures, workshops, mini-seminars and lunchtime chats. You'll also have access to the beautiful Honors study lounge on central campus, and have the option to live with other Honors students in Honors Housing. You'll also have the opportunity to develop a strong relationship with the Honors academic advisors, who will help you navigate the wealth of learning opportunities available at U of M.

We've created this section of our web site to give you a detailed look at what your life will be like as an Honors student, and to help you navigate through your first steps in becoming a University of Michigan student. Check out the links for more information about accepting our invitation, applying for housing, and registering for orientation. We're looking forward to having you as part of the Honors Program, and hope to hear from you soon!
