During Summer Orientation, incoming HSSP students complete their academic unit's orientation program (e.g., LSA, Nursing, Kinesiology, Engineering). Each HSSP student also meets with HSSP's Pre-Health Academic Advisor Joyce Sutton during Summer Orientation. During the second evening of Summer Orientation at 6:45pm, students meet a current HSSP student at the Michigan Learning Community session in order to learn about program opportunities and requirements.

HSSP students register for UC 105 for Fall 2008, which meets Mondays from 4:00 - 6:00pm. Students also register for a discussion section of UC 105, which may meet during the UC 105 class or at a different time during the week.

HSSP students are also eligible to register for health-related First-Year Seminars sponsored by HSSP, as well as reserved sections of English Composition courses that meet in Alice Lloyd Hall.
