Student Leadership Opportunities
HSSP's live-in student advisory staff provides support and mentorship for all HSSP residents, lead and/or coordinated program events, and help make HSSP a fun and supportive environment for students to live and learn.
HSSP Resident Advisors (RAs)
- Are typically third- and fourth-year HSSP members.
- Provide direct mentorship to all hall students, particularly assigned Peer Advisors.
- Help promote a warm, welcoming, and safe substance-free floor community.
- Help plan community-building events that expand learning beyond the classroom.
- Serve as students' first resource for Housing-related issues or concerns.
- Lead at least one of the following Programming Areas:
- Community Service
- Multiculturalism and Social Awareness
- Event Planning Committee
- Publicity, Education, and Outreach
- Health and Wellness
- Education and Outreach
- Community-Building
- Annual eents
HSSP Peer Advisors (PAs):
- Are second-year HSSP participants.
- Support Resident Advisors in promoting a warm, welcoming, and healthy substance-free floor community.
- Help plan community-building events that expand learning beyond the classroom.
- Lead at least one Programming Area (see above).
- Assist first-year students with their transition to life at U-M.
- Enroll in UC 270 (Health Career Observations, Experiences, and Reflections - fall term)
