Detailed Information
In the 1st century BC, the fabled riches of Dacia, present-day Romania, became irresistible to the expanding Roman Empire. It took Rome, under Trajan, two wars to vanquish them and establish colonies that were integrated into the Empire and cleared the path for a series of historic events that led at last to the development of the modern Romanian people.

Maria Hunciag received her doctorate in art history from the Nicolae Grigorescu Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Romania. She later earned a D.E.A in Byzantine art and archeology from the Sorbonne, Paris IV University. Before immigrating to the US, Maria Hunciag worked as Arts Curator at the Romanian National Fine Art Museum in Bucharest, Romania. Today, she holds the position of Art Specialist at the Public Library in Troy, Michigan, where she develops, manages and coordinates multicultural and arts programs and special events.

Free and open to the public.
