Thayer St. Ann Arbor Host Department: Institute for the Humanities William Bolcom, Composer, School of Music, Theatre and Dance, University of Michigan “A Double Quartet” Detailed Information Pulitzer-prize-winning composer William Bolcom will talk about his new Double Quartet (2007). Co-commissioned by the University Musical Society, it will be prèmiered at 8 pm, on February 9, in Rackham Auditorium, in a concert featuring the Guarneri String Quartet and the Johannes String Quartet. For tickets, go to www.ums.org. William Bolcom is Ross Lee Finney Distinguished Professor of Composition in the U-M School of Music, Theatre and Dance. Named 2007 Composer of the Year by Musical America and honored with multiple Grammy Awards for his ground-breaking setting of Blake’s Songs of Innocence and of Experience, Bolcom is a composer of cabaret songs, concertos, sonatas, operas, symphonies and more.
