Gayle Rubin received the Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan in 1994 and has been teaching at the University of Michigan since 2004. She is the author of a series of groundbreaking articles on the politics of sex and gender (collected in Deviations, 2012) and an anthropological study of gay leathermen in San Francisco (entitled Valley of the Kings, forthcoming). Her teaching in Comparative Literature includes graduate seminars in “The Aryans” and “Sexological Theories: From Krafft-Ebbing to Foucault.”
