2012 Yahoo!/University of Michigan Data Mining Competition Winners

The second annual Yahoo!/UM Data Mining Competition was held this spring.  Six teams completed projects that analyzed a subset of data of the American Time Use Survey.   

First place went to Time Use by Employment Status and Gender by the team of Christy Duan, Yiqun Hu, and Sangwon Hyun.  Second place, American Time Use Survey, We Spend out Weekends Mining Data.  What do YOU do for fun? by Alexander Flood, Albert Tan, and Lo-Hua Yan.

The teams each received a cash prize.  The first place team split $500 and second place split a $200 prize.
