Design & Engineering Consulting Services

The ISS Design and Engineering team offers consultation services to LSA departments and programs with audio-visual system needs. Design & Engineering offers both free and for-fee consultation services for LSA departments and programs. A la carte design and engineering services are also offered to University of Michigan units outside LSA on a for-fee basis.

The services offered at no cost to LSA departments and programs include:

  • Budget planning for new and replacement audio-visual systems
  • Preliminary audio-visual system conceptualization

The for-fee services offered to LSA departments and programs include:

  • Detailed system design and specification
  • Audio-visual vendor selection and oversight
  • Procurement and bid administration
  • Audio-visual system project management from concept to design to installation

ISS encourages LSA departments and programs with audio-visual needs to initiate a budget planning project with Design and Engineering early in the annual budget cycle.

For-fee consultation work typically requires execution of a service level agreement between the LSA department or program and ISS, detailing  the project scope of work and responsibilities, omnibus project costs, and payment information.
