American Culture

Program in American Culture offers Michigan students a chance to explore a range of topics from American history and literature to ethnic studies to pop culture. American Culture is home to three of the University’s Ethnic Studies Programs – Latino/a Studies, Native American Studies, Asian/Pacific Islander American Studies – each of which is committed to serving communities of affiliation and interest through a set of 15-credit academic minors and a range of community and service-learning courses. The Program offers students a new brand of ethnic studies, one rooted in global migration and movement, transnational identities, and unexpected juxtapositions.
