Stefanie Siegmund, winner of the Herbert Baxter Adams Prize in European History for 2006 by the American Historical Association for her book, The Medici State and the Ghetto of Florence: The Construction of an Early Modern Jewish Community (Stanford University Press, 2006).
Yaron Eliav, winner of the Theology and Religious Studies award by the Association of American Publishers, and winner of the 2006 Salo Baron Prize for the Best First Book in Judaic Studies from the American Academy of Jewish Research for his book, God’s Mountain: The Temple Mount in Time, Place and Memory (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2005).
Ruth Tsoffar, recipient of the 2007 Elli Kongas Maranda Prize from the Women's Section of the American Folklore Society and finalist, National Jewish Book Award in the category of Women’s Studies both for her book The Stains of Culture: An Ethno-Reading of Karaite Jewish Women (Wayne State University Press, 2005).
Ruth Behar, recipient of Fulbright Scholar grant. She will teach at the University of Buenos Aires in the 2007 Winter term and do research within the city, include a preliminary study of the Jewish community.
