The Frankel Center provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary course of graduate study for students who seek a deeper knowledge of Jewish culture, society, history, and letters. The Master of Arts program offers a broad and balanced exposure to Judaic Studies.Students complete 30 credits specializing in one of the following areas: Modern Jewish Literatures & Cultures; History & Politics; Rabbinics & Religious Thought; Hebrew Studies; and Yiddish Studies. The course of study culminates with either a thesis or substantial seminar paper. All students are required to demonstrate second semester proficiency in Hebrew or Yiddish and, upon graduation, fourth semester proficiency.

The Jewish Communal Leadership Program, offered in cooperation with the School of Social Work, affords a distinctive educational opportunity for emerging leaders committed to helping Jewish communities meet 21st-century challenges while also addressing broader social concerns. Students earn an MSW and a Certificate in Jewish Communal Service and Judaic Studies, and have opportunities for local, national, and international field placements, along with experience and training in non-profit management.
