Political Science

The Department of Political Science introduces students to issues of public policy through global perspectives, underscoring the reality that these problems are highly complex, debated in both national and international arenas. Students study classic texts as well as the latest research findings on city government and urban development, parties and elections, the legislative and judicial systems, international organizations, conflict, war and other aspects of the political interactions.

The Political Science doctoral program is distinguished by a wide variety of areas of specialization and ample opportunity to tailor programs to fit the needs and interests of individual students.
