The Kelsey sponsors or cosponsors a variety of lectures throughout the academic year. All are free and open to the public. For information on specific topics and dates, check our Events listing.
Archaeological Institute of America Lecture Series
Each year, between September and May, the Archaeological Institute of America sends up to three outstanding archaeologists to lecture to each of its societies. This free lecture program provides a unique opportunity for the public to meet practicing archaeologists and to learn of new discoveries.
Lectures are always provided in conjunction with the opening of a new exhibition. These are given by known specialists and offer important background information on the featured exhibit.
In addition to the formal lectures outlined above, the Kelsey offers public talks tailored to your meeting, program, or public event. If you are looking for a talk on a particular aspect of archaeology or the ancient world, let us know. We have already developed presentations on "Egyptian Mummies" and "The Kelsey Museum—History and Collections." To discuss possibilities, please contact Todd Gerring or Lauren Talalay.
