Linguistics faculty service outside of the Department

Linguistics faculty members are very involved in service activities outside of the Department. These activities range from the College and University level, to national and international scholarly societies, to editorial boards of various journals, to consulting for foreign governments, and more. Although these service activities can be time-consuming, they are an important part of what it means to be a successful and engaged scholar. Below is a representative, but undoubtedly incomplete, list of the service done by our faculty. Linguistics faculty are certainly very dedicated to the University, the field of Linguistics, and the communities in which we live and work.
