Dave's interests include corpora and quantitative methods, the psychology of language acquisition, and on-line language processing. He is currently working on an experimental proposal to test processor constraints in dealing with quantifier scope ambiguity. As an undergraduate, he worked in NLP, training a machine learner to predict emoticons based on sentiment in a corpus of internet chat. He is also broadly interested in language and evolution.
