  Ezra Keshet is an Assistant Professor of Linguistics. He completed his PhD in semantics at MIT, and his work also touches on syntax, pragmatics and discourse. His dissertation argued for a syntactic theory of tense and possible worlds for DPs. More current work focuses on scalar implicature, paycheck pronouns, and conditional conjunctions.  Last, he is pursuing a project to create and analyze a corpus for semantics research that links baseball game descriptions to the actual events in the games.

  Professor Keshet regularly teaches the undergraduate and graduate introductions to semantics, as well as Introduction to Language.  He has supervised student work on tense, discourse structure, and classifiers in Mandarin Chinese. Other interests include singing, cooking, and bicycling.
