Erica is interested in language acquisition, bilingualism, language contact, and psycholinguistics. She is especially interested in children's acquisition of dialects and similar languages. She is currently working on a project involving blocking in language acquisition by bilingual children, and a neuroimaging project on the processing of non-native phonemes.
