Claudia joins us from Tübingen, Germany, where she received her M.Ed. degree in German and English literatures, languages and cultures from Eberhard Karls University in 2005, and where she is currently a doctoral candidate in linguistics with a dissertation on intercultural communication, English as a lingua franca and web collaboration. In Tübingen, she worked as a research assistant and university lecturer in applied English linguistics and coordinated several European research and development projects on educational technologies and language learning. She spent 2007-2008 as visiting research scholar and German lecturer at Yale University. Claudia brings with her a particular fondness for intercultural language learning and many years of experience in language pedagogy, materials development, hybrid learning, collaborative online exchanges and the use of Web 2.0 tools for language teaching. Her most recent linguistic fascination is dog-cat communication.
