Afternoon Delight, 251 E.
Liberty St.
One of Ann Arbor’s premiere restaurants for breakfast, brunch,
or lunch. Afternoon Delight features omelets, salads, sandwiches,
freshly baked muffins, frozen yogurt, soup, and more.
Ashley’s,
338 S. State St.
Campus favorite of faculty, staff, and students, Ashley’s
is a stone’s throw from the conference, offering excellent
American food and literally hundreds of drink selections.
Arbor
Brewing Company, 116 E. Washington St.
ABC is a favorite Ann Arbor microbrewery featuring original-recipe
beers, burgers, pasta, and Mexican fares. Ask them for a tour of
their brewing operation, located within the restaurant itself.
Indoor and outdoor seating is available.
Bella Ciao Trattoria, 118
E. Liberty St.
One of Ann Arbor’s finest dining experiences, Bella Ciao
serves wonderful Italian food in a formal dining environment. Bella
Ciao also offers an excellent wine selection. Reservations are
recommended and prices are above average for Ann Arbor.
Blimpy
Burger - Krazy Jim’s,
551 S. Division St.
Since 1953 Blimpy’s has served burgers, fries, shakes, and
more in the classic style of ‘50s soda fountain. Banter with
the grill staff as they cook in front of you while you wait.
Connor
O’Neill’s Traditional Irish Pub, 318 S. Main
St.
Featuring traditional Irish food and an excellent bar menu, Connor’s
is a well-loved venue by the university community and for many
Ann Arbor locals. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and Connor’s
frequently hosts live Irish music and other unique performances.
Cottage
Inn, 512 E. William St.
Full-service restaurant featuring pizza in addition to a full menu
of Italian dishes. Cottage Inn offers full bar service and is a
campus favorite.
Del-Rio Bar, 122 W. Washington St.
The Del-Rio, a bar with a limited food menu, specializes in margaritas
and live music. A great place to experience some Ann Arbor local
color, guests should be advised that the Del-Rio is a loud and
smoky atmosphere.
Full Moon Restaurant
and Saloon, 207 S. Main St.
Another favorite Ann Arbor bar and grill, the Full Moon offers
a full hall of pool tables, big screen televisions, excellent
food, and a diverse range of customers.
Gandy Dancer
Restaurant, 401
S. Depot St.
Located in Ann Arbor’s old train station, the Gandy Dancer
is one of Ann Arbor’s classiest dining experiences. Pricey,
but delicious, the restaurant overlooks railroad tracks that are
still in operation, and diners watch as trains pass through town
while they eat.
Grizzly Peak, 120 W. Washington St.
The Grizzly Peak is another Ann Arbor microbrewery famous for its
ales, soups, baked breads, and atmosphere. The food is wonderful,
but moderately priced, and
the original-recipe beers are quite tasty.
Jerusalem Garden
and Earthen Jar Restaurants,
307 S. Fifth Ave. and 311 S. Fifth
Ave.
Located next to each other in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, these two boast
excellent falafels and pitas, in addition to other menu selections. The Earthen
Jar is known for its vegetarian fare and both are great places for a carry-out
picnic.
Old Town, 122 W. Liberty St.
Another Ann Arbor classic, Old Town is a traditional pub with great
sandwiches
and a tasteful clientele.
Palio, 347 S. Main St.
Palio is one of Ann Arbor’s nicest Italian restaurants of a moderate
price range. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, as well as their unique
roof-top
dining room offering an entirely separate menu than the main restaurant.
Parthenon
Restaurant, 226 S. Main St.
Parthenon serves Greek cuisine in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. Indoor and
outdoor seating is available.
Raja Rani Fine
Indian Cuisine, 400 S. Division
St.
Raji Rani serves Michigan’s campus with delicious Indian food. Their
menu offers a wide range of dishes in addition to frequent lunch and dinner
buffets.
Red
Hawk Bar & Grill,
316 S. State St.
The Red Hawk is just a stone’s throw from the conference
and offers an excellent selection of lunches and dinners. In the
evenings Red Hawk is a campus
drinking favorite. The entire restaurant and bar is a non-smoking facility.
Sabor
Latino Restaurant, 211 N. Main St. and 211 S. State St.
Wonderful Mexican and Latin American cuisine, Sabor Latino offers
two downtown locations and affordable prices to those looking
for authentic Latin cuisine.
Shalimar Restaurant, 307 S. Main
St.
Shalimar boasts a terrific selection of Haute Indian cuisine
and their highly popular lunchtime buffets at a moderate cost.
Shalimar is also the
only Indian
restaurant downtown that serves alcohol.
Zanzibar, 216 S. State St.
Zanzibar offers contemporary American food with Mediterranean
and tropical influences. With a truly unique menu, and located
one block from the
conference, Zanzibar
is a refreshing Ann Arbor dining experience.
