Air
Travel Information
Detroit Metropolitan
International Airport is only 20 miles from Ann Arbor, about a 45
minute drive. Northwest Airlines is the primary carrier in Detroit
although the city is serviced by other major carriers as well.

Ground
Transportation from the Airport
All shuttle and taxi
service from the airport to Ann Arbor must be arranged in advance.
In other words, taxis and shuttles will not be available at the
curb when you arrive in Detroit. Neither are busses available between
Detroit Metro and Ann Arbor.

Rail
Information
Amtrak
provides passenger rail service to Ann Arbor. The rail station is
approximately a mile from the University of Michigan central campus.
Cabs are readily available at the train station.
If you want to walk,
directions from the train station to the hotels/MLB: Turn left (East)
onto Depot Street and walk 0.2 miles to North State Street. Turn
Right (South) onto N. State and walk 0.4 miles. To the Campus Inn,
turn right onto Huron Street and walk a block. For the MLB / Bell
Tower Hotel, follow N. State to Washington Street, turn left (East)
and walk one block to the corner of Washington and Thayer. The MLB
will be on the corner of Washington and Thayer; the Bell Tower Hotel
is a block South on Thayer.

Ann
Arbor & Campus Parking
If you are staying at
a hotel please mention to the hotel that you will be needing to
park a car during your stay.
A limited number of Michigan
guest permits are available for $8 per day and those interested
in a guest permit should contact iallt-2003@umich.edu
or call (734) 764-0424 to make arrangements. Handicapped guest permits
will be available. Other visitor parking is also limited and is
likely to cost $1.50 per hour in public parking facilities. Click
