I(we) regret to inform you that the College of LSA has not recommended you to the Provost for promotion to the rank of associate professor with tenure at the University of Michigan. This decision will be reviewed by the Provost.
If the Provost endorses the College’s decision, your contract with the University of Michigan will expire on May 31, 2008. The [Unit(s)] however, can offer you a one-year "terminal" contract for the university year 2008-09. Please let me(us) know by May 1, 2008, if you would like to exercise this option.
