Most first- and second-year students live in university residence halls. If you are teaching a course that has a large number of first- and second-year students, you might form discussion groups or assign group project memberships by residence hall locations. You may also wish to encourage students to form study groups or hold review sessions with others who live in their residence hall.

Remind students that an academic advisor keeps regular office hours in every residence hall. These advisors are available to discuss any academic issues, problems, and anxieties that may arise.
