Michigan is ranked #1 nationally by USNWR for it’s Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP), which provides research partnerships between more than 900 first-year students and over 600 faculty, in almost every discipline in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Student researchers can work in every college, including the medical school.
You may also participate in the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program within several science departments. Or, just talk to your faculty member about their research and opportunities available to work with them. Michigan has the largest research budget in the world, so come prepared to take part in this integral part of university life.
