Home > Research > Meredith Jung-En Woo Meredith Jung-En Woo Meredith Jung-En Woo, Professor of Political Science and Korea Foundation Professor of Korean Studies, has agreed to serve as the College’s Associate Dean for Social Sciences for a three year term beginning July 1, 2007. In this position she will have responsibility for all academic affairs, research, and planning issues in the Division of Social Sciences. Professor Woo received her doctorate from Columbia University and is a specialist in comparative politics and international political economy. Her many books in these areas include Race to the Swift: State and Finance in Korean Industrialization (Columbia), Capital Ungoverned: Liberalizing Finance in Interventionist States (Cornell) and After the Miracle: Neoliberalism and Institutional Reform in East Asia (forthcoming, Palgrave). Professor Woo taught at Northwestern University before joining our Department of Political Science in 2001. She has been Director of our Korean Studies Program, and served on the executive committee of the Department of Political Science and the steering committees of the Program in Organizational Studies and the International Institute.
