Commencement Information

General Information
The Office of Ceremonial and Presidential Events sponsors the Commencement ceremony. They provide helpful information about tickets, attire, Commencement Day instructions and parking online at http://www.umich.edu/~gradinfo/.

Commencement Dates

Spring 2008 Commencement will be held on Saturday, Aprıl 26 at 10:00 a.m. on the Diag

** Since there is no graduation ceremony in the summer, August degree applicants can attend the Spring or Winter Commencement ceremony.

Commencement Tickets

Sprıng 2008 tickets will be available the week preceeding the ceremony. Ticket distribution will take place in the Alumni Center, Founders Room (Alumni Association, 200 Fletcher Street).  Up to six tickets will be distributed at this time.  Extra tickets, if available, will be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis.  Check www.umich.edu/~gradinfo for details.

You must present your student I.D. card to receive tickets.  Please call (734) 647-6037 or go to www.umich.edu/~gradinfo if you have any additional questions regarding Commencement tickets.  

Important Reminders
In order to graduate you have to apply for graduation and submit a Concentration Release Form and a Minor Release Form (if applicable) to the LSA Academic Auditors Office. 

Please remember: 

ATTENDING THE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY DOES NOT CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY GRADUATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN.

Graduation Ceremony Attire
Caps, gowns, tassels, and honor cords are available to purchase approximately 4-6 weeks prior to Winter and Spring Commencement ceremonies at the following campus bookstores

Graduation Ceremony Information
You must apply for graduation in order to be placed onto a tentative degree list by LSA Academic Auditors. There are three graduation dates each year but only two graduation ceremonies. The University's Development Office sponsors the ceremony
