• About

  Peter is the LSAIT Advocate for the Departments of Anthropology, Afroamerican and African Studies, Earth and Environmental Sciences, and the Museum of Anthropology.  His background is in oceanography, geology, and information sciences. He specializes in fieldwork Information Technology, including ruggedized and mobile computing, field instrument integration and networking, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and collaboration systems. Additionally, he works with the rest of the LSAIT Advocacy and Research Support team to assist researchers with: IT-related content for funding opportunities; the design and acquisition of IT hardware, software, and service solutions; understanding and managing the storage, backup, and security of research data; custom IT design and development in support of research activities; and, integrating research equipment with local or campus-wide IT infrastructure.
