The problem that made ~/Library in afs unusable has been fixed, but it's still not production ready. browsing the afs top level from the finder broke the one time I tried it.
JeffK: utter silence.  Peter Honeyman (UMICH) is out of the country at this time.

Gretchen:  SPSS - hopefully end of July, Snerdware isn't replying, pkgmaker document
  isn't done yet - not a big rush since the Panther pkgmaker doc is still there and
  is sufficient for now since Tiger's pkgmaker is a lot easier to use
  
  

Anyone want to develop some more widgets (UM-specific)?
  - umod (someone already is working on this external to LSA)

  - 'Swiss Army' UM widget - combine them all
  - Quick-submit to FootPrints (easy) (have to keep project number as a config)

  - Support Profiler (S/N, UMtag, IP, MACaddr, userID, room#)  I wrote a command line tool (and cocoa version) that will produce the apple SN, NewWorld Name, and primary ethernet address from the IO registry .. source on request.-- Jim
  -I've started the learning curve on my own time.  It's way more complex than I would have thought.  javascript is a strange, strange beast.

Do we need to make universal binaries for our unix tools?
Jeremy will try it with the unix tools, and document it.

Jim suggested creating a self-destructing loginhook/startupitem
that runs only the first time a machine is booted after installation
that automatically does a softwareupdate in the background... thoughts?
Concerns:
   - User doesn't know the machine hasn't finished softwareupdating and may shutdown
      (iHook may fix this)
   - script will autoreboot when done, which could interrupt something the user is
      doing  (iHook's presence might keep user from doing something while it's updating)

EVERYONE - Firewall UDP blocking - how's it working? -- I dumped the rules that my machine generated, down at the very bottom.  Looks reasonable to me.
